Social ventures & projects
How the signal becomes useful — partnerships and projects, in development.
Providence's social ventures and projects — the concrete ways the signal becomes something useful in the world. Everything here is in development.
People and places we're building with, or hope to. Partnership here means real, mutual, values-aligned relationships — not sponsorships or extraction.
Placeholders — replace with real partners as they form. Keep it honest: only list what's actually alive.
"Our Heart in Your Hands." A hybrid tool company — profit and impact — built in partnership with trade unions. A share of every tool sold funds apprenticeship costs (transport, tools, food) and higher pay for the union educators who train the next generation of tradespeople. We manufacture, so we can shape our tools to the unions’ own feedback as we grow.
A grounded commitment, borrowed from Dr. Bronner’s: our highest-paid role will never earn more than 5× the starting wage of an apprentice who graduates the programs we support. And a “first tools” program — discounted or free basics for apprentices who need them.
From your MGT 474 venture plan. Two of your professor’s notes to fold in: at the company level this is a “charter,” not a constitution; and Q6 wants an actual year-1 revenue calculation, not just how you’ll fund it.
