An honest ledger of the people, works, and traditions that helped me get here, or held up a light when I needed one. No one arrives alone. Naming a source is gratitude, not a debt — convergence and inheritance aren't things you owe back.
Frameworks & teachers of the body
- Morihei Ueshiba — founder of Aikido. The balanced moral framework we operate from: hold all life as valuable, never initiate harm, take responsibility for your own life first, and meet aggression by blending with and redirecting it rather than answering violence with violence. The one who comes only to harm is turned back down their own path.
- Tai Chi — the practice beneath the practice — softness overcoming hardness, moving with force instead of against it, rooted and yielding at once.
- Peter Levine — pioneer of Somatic Experiencing — the body as the place we hold and release what happened to us. Healing through the body, not around it.
Makers & blueprints
- Joseff McKenneth Goodwin — provided the original — underfunded and underdeveloped — blueprint from which we gleaned immense inspiration, and corroboration of ourselves.
- Dr. Bronner's — good, honest household supplies — clean, ethically sourced, and openly operated. Proof a company can put its whole self on the label.
- Industry of All Nations — good, honest clothing — clean, transparent, and ethically made across the whole supply chain.
