The terms of this space
Spelled out, on purpose — so whatever you agree to, you agree to it awake.
Most agreements online are struck covertly — unconsciously, in the fine print, or never named at all. I intend the opposite. Everything here is spelled out, on purpose, so that whatever you agree to, you agree to it awake. These are the terms of my space.
You do not own me. The signal is internal, and mine.
Each window on this portal is clearly labeled. Donations are for donations. Purchases are purchases. Nothing here means something other than what it says it means.
Opening a portal is not a promise to answer through it. I agree to receive what comes through the windows I have chosen to open — and nothing more. I do not agree to respond, and I do not agree to receive everything sent my way. I always reserve the right to revoke access from any particular party, and to simply not tune in.
By signing up for my newsletter, you agree to receive my newsletter. You agree to value my communications, and you acknowledge that in receiving them you will pay — with your time, attention, space or materials, relational availability, and/or money.
If those are not things you can afford, or would rather not spend here, I suggest you do not receive my communications.
By subscribing to any of my channels, you agree to receive my communications, to value them, and to pay with your time, attention, space or materials, relational availability, and/or money.
If those are not things you can afford or wish to spend, I suggest you do not subscribe.
By donating, you agree that I owe you nothing in return. A donation here is nearly nonrefundable.
I will allow a refund only under one clearly stated circumstance: that you were genuinely confused by the coherence of this platform. In that case, a refund requires that you (1) acknowledge the confusion was yours and that resolving it cost me time and energy, (2) agree to do better going forward, and (3) can clearly communicate that you were honestly unclear about what you were agreeing to.
I hold this as a reasonable allowance. The wider system is noisy; this space is deliberately clearer, more coherent, and more direct than much of what's online, and that difference can genuinely disorient. What I will not accept is the covert or unconscious contract. In my space, I intend the opposite: intentional awareness.
By purchasing one of my creations, you earn the right to edit, modify, play with, contemplate, destroy, deconstruct, and reassemble the thing you bought. What you purchased is yours, in totality, coded into your own pattern, for as long as you choose to keep it.
You do not earn the right to redistribute my work, or to earn financial support from it. If you choose to release the bond a work forms with you, you may then sell, donate, give away, or bury any physical product. If you sell, you may never make more than you paid; any excess is to be donated to the Providence nonprofit foundation.
You may cite and sample my creative work with proper citation. If your use is genuinely transformative, any income arising after that transformation is yours. Once the work is yours, it is yours to transform as you see fit.
[Being written.]
Any extraction of information from this site beyond ordinary reading — [being written].
If you continually choose to return to my work, you are responsible for taking care of yourself while you're here. I will not do the work of therapy, consolation, motivation, psychiatric evaluation, or any modern Western medical treatment that legally requires more than a bachelor's degree. Those are things I reserve to tend for myself and for those in my grounded, personal circle.
This is an interdependent community, not a codependent one. I am supported enough not to need you to regulate my inner state. You are responsible for managing your own inner state, tending your own wounds, and seeing yourself honestly.
Any support you need, you'll need to ask for honestly — and it may be that the support you need does not exist here. That doesn't make you, or anyone here, wrong.
Any insertion or assertion of yourself into my awareness through my channels will be met with clear boundary. This is my space, and I will not be told how to hold it.
This is a mirror. I am not, and never will be, a perfect one — but I am now balanced, sturdy, and stable within myself. Whatever you find here will, in the end, point you back toward yourself.
A note on diversity. This mirror reflects the same truth back through every different face. However differently each of us arrives at it or speaks it, the reflection is no less real — the truth is mirrored the same, even in diversity.
The words above are SPELLED — mine, in my own voice. Below is the same intent in plain, system-legible terms: what a lawyer, a platform, or a stranger can read and respect. Where the two differ, the plain version is what is actually enforceable; the SPELLED version is what I mean.
Reaching me through a channel I have opened means I may receive your message; it does not obligate me to read or respond to it, or to receive messages through channels I have not opened. I may revoke access or block any party at any time.
Subscribing means you consent to receive my communications. You may unsubscribe at any time. There is no monetary fee.
Donations are voluntary gifts and are non-refundable; I owe nothing in return. If you believe you gave in genuine error or confusion, contact me and I may refund at my discretion.
Buying a work grants you a personal, non-exclusive license to keep, use, enjoy, and privately modify your copy. You may not redistribute it, resell copies, or commercially exploit my work. You may quote or sample it with clear attribution; genuinely transformative new works you make from it are your own.
You own the physical item you bought and may keep, alter, or destroy it. Under first-sale law you may also resell or give it away — I cannot legally cap a resale price, so the SPELLED request that resale profit go to Providence is one I make of you in good faith, not a binding term.
